4 Years Development – Gross Motor Skills
Gross motor (physical) skills are abilities that require whole-body movement and involve the body’s large (as core stabilizers) muscles to perform everyday actions such as standing, walking, running, and sitting upright. It also includes hand-coordination skills such as ball-playing skills (throwing, catching, hitting).
Developmental Stage
- Stands on one leg for 5 seconds.
- Throws the ball forward
- He hits the ball with his fingers.
- He catches the bouncing ball.
- Runs around obstacles.
- It can walk on a certain line.
- It can jump on one leg.
- Can jump over an obstacle or hill with both feet
Possible Situations Encountered When It Doesn’t Progress
- Lack of confidence in movement-based activities.
- Difficulty using players on the playground.
- Difficulty or lack of confidence interacting with other children in existing settings (such as parks and playgrounds)
